The news you have all been waiting on, our temporary location while Kendrick Rec Center undergoes maintenance is here!
Kendrick Gymnastics is proud to announce we are moving to a gym space located right in our community at 124 Cotton Street in Manayunk. The 7,000 sf gym is owned by St. John the Baptist Parish and is located beneath St. Josaphat’s Church.
The gym space is almost double the square foot we are currently in with a super high/open ceiling, is within walking distance, has air conditioning, one girls and one boys bathroom both with multiple stalls, a full size kitchen and lobby area. The space is in immaculate condition.
The gym will have all major pieces of equipment from our main gym, proper matting and our mini gym will be sectioned off but located within the main gym. We plan to set up a small sitting area for parents.
Kendrick Gymnastics is dedicated to keeping true to the mission that everyone should have access to gymnastics. Although, you will see a small increase in our prices, leasing this space short term will allow Kendrick Gymnastics to remain an affordable recreational and competitive gymnastics program vs had we gone commercial. That factor was important to us!
Unfortunately, there is NOT an accessible parking lot at the new space and parking can be difficult to find in the Manayunk area. Therefore, we will be strategizing a drop off and pick/up procedure to make it easier on our families. However, you are more than welcome to find parking and walk your child inside. As mentioned, we plan to have a small sitting area for parents. More details on d/o & p/u procedures to follow.
Spring Registration will immediately open online following this announcement. The Spring Session will begin the week of March 13th. The first 3 weeks of classes will take place at Kendrick Rec Center. We will be off for one week for spring break and in order to move into the new space. Then, classes will resume April 10th at the new space. The Spring Session will conclude June 10th with our Annual Gym Show taking place on Sunday, June 11th.
We look forward to camp days at the new location with the addition of a full size kitchen for cooking classes, Pretzel Park directly across the street for outdoor fun/games and the Manayunk towpath for walking exploration activities. Camp will still include weekly trips and all the fun of past summers. Please note we plan to offer additional weeks this summer rather than the normal 7. Woo hooo!!! More info on Kendrick Gymnastics Summer Experience Camp to be provided in the upcoming weeks.
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS! WE WILL BE MOVING ON SATURDAY, APRIL 1ST TO THE NEW SPACE. WE NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS TO HELP US WITH THE MOVE; BREAK DOWN EQUIPMENT, LOAD AND UNLOAD TRUCK. IT WILL BE AN ALL DAY EVENT WITH REFRESHMENTS FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS AS A THANK YOU. WE HAVE PROFESSIONALS TO INSTALL THE BARS AND REBUILD THE SPRING FLOOR IN THE NEW SPACE BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE UP TO US AND OUR VOLUNTEERS. WE APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET FROM OUR FAMILIES. THE MORE VOLUNTEERS THE FASTER IT CAN BE DONE! MORE INFO TO FOLLOW REGARDING MOVING DAY.
Registration for the Spring Session will open online with classes beginning the week of March 13th, 2022.
